I am Andrea, a volunteer for a year now in Civil Protection. Oriel Association is concerned with promoting the principles of Civil Protection in every single citizen, in every single community and in every complex working structure. It is also concerned with assisting people affected by natural and man-made events for a return to daily life as soon as possible and promoting scientific study and research activities aimed at the prevention and mitigation of natural and man-made hazards. During the summer, us as the Civil Protection in support of the fire brigade helped in activities to safeguard local forests and wildlife, fighting forest fires and preventing them with awareness campaigns that from this year have been extended within schools. Awareness campaigns make citizens, children and youth aware of the values of environmental sustainability and safeguarding the environment that Civil Protection has as its foundation. During the winter, on the other hand, we deal with mitigating hydrogeological risks related to floods, rains, floods and adverse weather phenomena.
